We read your code and your evals, not your adjectives
Naderu is an AI-models company, a venture of BytesBrains Pte. Ltd. We train specialised models on top of foundation models, release them with real evaluation and clear licensing, and deliver the engineering around them. Everything we claim about a model is backed by a number somebody can reproduce — which is also how we read an application.
Model Engineer — Training & Evaluation
You would own models end to end: dataset curation, training recipes — LoRA, QLoRA, full fine-tunes, GGUF quantization — versioned evaluation gates, and the release manifests consumers pin against. Much of our pipeline runs on Apple Silicon (MLX), PyTorch and the Hugging Face stack.
The work is unusually visible. Our model board is re-sourced weekly in public, and when we get something wrong we correct it with our name on it. Models you train ship with a card stating what they do and what they do not, and the eval suite that backs it. If that sounds like accountability rather than exposure, we will get on.
How to apply
Send your CV as an attachment to contact@naderu.com. No cover letter attached — instead, answer these four in the body of the email:
| # | What we are asking |
|---|---|
| 1 | Something you trained. A link to a repo, Hugging Face model, or page carrying your exact recipe and evaluation metrics. |
| 2 | A mistake you made. A model or eval decision you got wrong, and what you changed to fix it. |
| 3 | Weakest claim (optional). Read one of our public model cards at huggingface.co/bytesbrains and tell us the weakest claim in it. |
| 4 | Environment check. Have you worked with llama.cpp / GGUF, MLX, or edge deployment constraints? Briefly. |
Small and honestly measured beats large and hand-waved. Question 2 is not a trick and question 3 is not a loyalty test — we would rather hire somebody who can find the weak claim in our own work than somebody who tells us it is all excellent. A short answer with a number in it will always beat a long one without.
What we will tell you
- Whether we are progressing your application, either way. Silence is not a decision and we will not use it as one.
- What the role pays, before you spend time on an interview.
- Honestly where the company is: early, deliberately narrow, and small enough that this role shapes it.
Nothing here that fits?
Write anyway to contact@naderu.com with something you have built and measured. We open roles as the work demands them, and we would rather already know you when that happens.
